Made in Japan, a limited edition model with solid walnut earcups in a beam of light
The TH616 is produced in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the birth of Fostex, which is carved from high-quality solid black walnut wood in a design reminiscent of traditional Japanese woodwork, and is made into an open housing while achieving reliable acoustic performance.
You can enjoy a new premium-feeling headphone that combines Japanese taste with an excellent, carefully hand-assembled acoustic structure.
An open housing carved from solid black walnut into a shape that resembles a beam of light
The housing is carved from solid black walnut, a high-quality wood, and has an open design inspired by the fantastic natural phenomenon of sunlight shining through gaps in the trees. This machined design not only reduces weight and maintains rigidity, but also reduces unnecessary resonance. In addition, in order to eliminate negative effects caused by the resonance of the openings, all the openings have different areas to suppress the occurrence of resonance at specific frequencies.
Biodyna diaphragm, using ultra-fine biocellulose fiber material drivers
Utilizing the knowledge accumulated over many years, we blend biocellulose fibers and other fibers under optimal conditions. In addition to delicate, high-resolution, beautiful mid- and high-frequency reproduction, the adoption of free edges with good linearity faithfully reproduces large-amplitude low-mid frequencies.
Super strong magnetic circuit
The magnetic circuit is equipped with a 50mm driver unit with a magnetic flux density of 1 Tesla. The ultra-strong magnetic circuit provides a wide dynamic range with low distortion.
High quality and lightweight mechanical parts
Aluminum is used extensively for mechanical parts, achieving a high quality feel and light weight. By using high-density resin for the baffle plate, we have reduced the generation of resonances, achieving high resolution, rich midrange, and high-quality bass reproduction.
